The Bear Den is a 2 bedroom cabin rental perched on the scenic shores of Lower Clam Lake only 3 miles from downtown Clam Lake, Wisconsin in the Chequamegon National Forest. The cozy cabin was once part of the historic Pinehurst Resort on Lower Clam Lake. Now privately owned, the cabin offers comfortable lodging and beautiful lake view set among tall pines.
The interior of the cabin has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and an open living area with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room complete with charming Northwood's furnishings.
The kitchen includes refrigerator, electric stovetop and oven, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster and all cooking essentials. There are 2 stools and counter space on which to dine. A charcoal grill outside provides additional cooking options, too.
There are 2 bedrooms. The lakeside bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a twin bed in it. The log futon in the carpeted living room folds out to provide additional sleeping space. There is a bathroom with shower.
A gentle path leads down to the sandy lakeshore. There's a nice swimming area with sandy lake bottom and a swimming raft. Lower Clam Lake is a 230 acre lake with a maximum depth of 30 feet. There is a public boat landing across the lake from the cabin. Fish in the lake include musky, pan fish, new bass, and walleye. Wildlife in the area includes loons, eagles, grouse, osprey, bear, deer, and elk.
The location offers a beautiful view of Lower Clam Lake. The lake is popular for fishing, ice fishing, kayaking, canoeing and swimming and is convenient to local snowmobile and ATV trails. The surrounding Chequamegon National Forest offers thousands of acres of prime whitetail, bear and grouse hunting.
