Wildlife in the national forest is plentiful with fox, loons, black bear, white tailed deer and eagles ever present to the sharp eye. The Rocky Mountain Elk Release Foundation has placed over 100 of the majestic animals in the forest which can now roam the woods around rustic Clam Lake and can often be seen by the patient observer.
